Your Lash Lift Questions, Answered
-
A lash lift is a semi-permanent treatment that enhances your natural lashes by lifting and curling them from the root. The result is longer-looking, more defined lashes without the need for extensions or an eyelash curler.
-
Not at Clarity!
Our certified lash artists carefully customize every treatment by selecting the appropriate shield size, processing time, and professional solutions for your lashes. When performed correctly and paired with proper aftercare, lash lifts are a safe and healthy way to enhance your natural lashes.
-
If you’ve had lash lifts before becoming pregnant, it’s generally considered safe to continue your regular appointments.
If this is your first lash lift, we recommend waiting until after your first trimester. As with any cosmetic service during pregnancy or breastfeeding, it’s always best to consult your healthcare provider if you have any questions or concerns.
-
Most clients enjoy their lash lift for 6–8 weeks.
As your natural lashes grow and shed through their normal growth cycle, the lifted lashes will gradually relax and return to their natural shape.
-
Lash tints are completely optional.
However, we highly recommend adding a tint, as the lifting process can make the tips of your lashes appear lighter. A tint darkens every lash from root to tip, creating a fuller, more defined look and beautifully completing your results.
-
We recommend Elleeplex Aftercare to nourish, condition, and strengthen your natural lashes.
This nutrient-rich conditioning serum helps keep your lashes healthy while also supporting longer-lasting lift results.
-
Most of our regular lash lift clients schedule appointments every 6–8 weeks, allowing enough time for their natural lash cycle while maintaining beautiful results year-round.
-
A lash lift enhances the lashes you already have by lifting and curling them for a naturally defined look.
Lash extensions involve attaching individual synthetic extensions to your natural lashes, creating additional length, fullness, and dramatic definition.
If you’re looking for a low-maintenance enhancement, a lash lift is an excellent choice. If you want significantly more length or volume, lash extensions may be a better fit.
-
Yes!
After waiting 24–48 hours, you’re welcome to wear mascara. Many clients actually find they need much less mascara because their lashes already appear lifted, darker, and more visible.
Our favorite is Elleevate Mascara, which was specially formulated to complement lash lift results.
-
Anyone with healthy natural lashes who wants a beautiful, low-maintenance enhancement is typically a great candidate.
Lash lifts are especially transformative for clients whose natural lashes grow straight or downward.
-
It’s always best to arrive with clean lashes whenever possible.
If you do arrive wearing eye makeup, don’t worry! Your lash artist will thoroughly cleanse your lashes to remove any makeup, oils, or residue before beginning your service.
-
Yes—we recommend removing contact lenses before your appointment since a lash lift is a chemical service.
You may safely put your contacts back in immediately after your appointment.
-
We reserve 90 minutes for every lash lift appointment so there’s plenty of time for your consultation, before-and-after photos (with your permission), and aftercare instructions.
The treatment itself typically takes 45–60 minutes.
-
For the first 24–48 hours, avoid getting your lashes excessively wet or exposing them to steam, swimming, saunas, or heavy sweating. This allows the lift to fully set.
After that, you can wash your face and enjoy your normal routine without restrictions.
-
An eyelash curler shouldn’t be necessary after your treatment.
Using one may weaken or damage your natural lashes over time and can reduce the longevity of your lift. Your lashes should already have a beautiful, natural curl.
-
Many clients with sensitive eyes can still enjoy a lash lift.
Please let us know about any allergies, sensitivities, eye conditions, or previous reactions before your appointment so we can determine whether a lash lift is the best option for you.
-
Absolutely!
If you’re using a lash growth serum, you can typically continue your routine. Our favorite is Babe Lash, which helps support healthy, longer-looking natural lashes and beautifully complements lash lift results.

We actually recommend Elleeplex Aftercare instead of castor oil.
Heavy oils, including castor oil, can weigh down your lashes and may cause your lift to relax more quickly. Elleeplex is specifically formulated to nourish your lashes while helping preserve your beautiful lift.
