Your Lash Extension Questions, Answered
-
Our licensed lash artists carefully apply one individual extension (Classic) or a handmade volume fan (Volume) to each healthy natural lash using a professional-grade adhesive specifically formulated for use around the eye area. The process is precise, comfortable, and completely customized to you.
-
Not at Clarity!
The health of your natural lashes is always our top priority. We carefully select the appropriate length, weight, and style of extensions for your natural lashes to ensure they remain healthy and strong.
Proper aftercare is just as important. Following the home care recommendations from your lash artist will help maximize retention while protecting the health of your natural lashes.
-
If you’ve been wearing lash extensions prior to pregnancy, it’s generally considered safe to continue your appointments throughout your pregnancy.
If lash extensions are new to you, we recommend waiting until your second or third trimester before scheduling your first full set. As with any cosmetic service during pregnancy, we encourage you to check with your OB if you have any questions or concerns.
-
With proper home care, lash extensions typically remain attached for 2–4 weeks. Since extensions are bonded to your natural lashes, they shed as part of your normal lash growth cycle.
To keep your lashes looking full and beautiful, we recommend scheduling maintenance fills every 2–3 weeks.
-
Your appointment length depends on the style you choose.
Full Sets: Approximately 2–4 hours
Lash Fills: Typically 30–90 minutes, depending on how long it’s been since your last appointment.
Our goal is never to rush the process—we prioritize safe application, healthy natural lashes, and beautiful results every time.
-
Absolutely! We recommend scheduling your full set about 2 weeks before your wedding, followed by a fill during the week of your big day. This ensures your lashes look their absolute best for all of your celebrations.
We also encourage scheduling a 15-minute patch test prior to your first full set to help minimize the possibility of any sensitivity or allergic reaction.
-
Yes! If you’ve decided you’d like a fuller or more dramatic look than a lash lift provides, extensions are a great option.
We recommend waiting at least 48 hours after your lash lift before applying extensions. Depending on your lift results, your artist may adjust your lash curls and lengths to create the most flattering design once your natural lashes begin relaxing.
-
No! Every lash set is completely customized.
Your artist carefully maps different lengths, curls, and diameters to enhance your eye shape while maintaining the health of your natural lashes. Extensions are typically shorter toward the inner and outer corners, creating a soft, balanced look.
No two Clarity lash sets are exactly alike.

You may put your contacts back in immediately after your service.
-
Absolutely!
Every appointment begins with a personalized consultation where we’ll discuss your desired look, lifestyle, and maintenance preferences.
We’ll also consider your eye shape, facial features, natural lashes, and overall aesthetic to create a custom lash design that’s uniquely yours.
-
Yes, but proper products make all the difference.
Always remove eye makeup using an extension-safe cleanser. Ask us about our favorite lash-safe retail products!
Mascara may occasionally be worn on Classic lashes only, but only if it’s extension-safe. We do not recommend mascara on Hybrid, Volume, or Mega Volume extensions, as it can clump the fans together and shorten the life of your lash set.
-
Please wait 24 hours after your appointment before getting your lashes wet. This allows the adhesive to fully cure.
After that, we actually encourage daily cleansing! Clean lashes are healthy lashes and help improve retention.
Pro Tip: After washing your lashes, gently brush them with a clean spoolie once they’re dry to keep them fluffy and perfectly aligned.
-
Every new full set at Clarity includes our Lash Detox Foaming Cleanser and a cleansing brush.
We recommend cleansing your lash line daily to remove oils, makeup, pollen, and debris that can affect retention and lash health.
After your lashes have air dried, gently brush through them with your spoolie to keep them looking fresh and fluffy.
-
For the first 24 hours, avoid swimming, hot tubs, saunas, excessive sweating, or anything that introduces moisture to your lash line.
After that, you can absolutely swim and work out!
We do recommend cleansing your lashes after heavy exercise, swimming, or crying. Sweat, salt, oils, and chlorine can all affect adhesive performance over time, and regular cleansing helps keep both your extensions and natural lashes healthy.
